Insane in the Membrane…on ice!

I have not been watching the winter olympics, let me just put that out there.  I don’t have a tv or much time so I generally just forget that it is on until Shawn White and his coach, in a flurry of excitement, curse on the air.  Any information I have about the games is second (sometimes third) hand from Gawker.  That said, I just got an interesting tidbit regarding figure skating, which for my money has always been one of the more fascinating competitions (what with all the bright costumes and raw agility).  That tidbit is that 21 year old Swedish figure skater Adrian Schultheiss has used Cypress Hill’s ‘Insane in the Brain’ (via: Sports Illustrated) as a central portion of his routine.  I am not sure if this is exciting news or something we should have all seen coming considering his other songs have included Van Halen and fucking Prodigy.  Cypress Hill seems like an extraordinarily logical next step.  Check out the link if only to read a Sports Illustrated post that cites a ‘stoner anthem’ in relation to the Olympics.

A funny note: the ‘full size’ dimensions of the Cypress Hill image below are 420 x 420.  Priceless.
